Iron and green bean soup

The Sunday before, the sermon was given by one of the 'handsome' pastor. He has experienced in mission and different aspects of serving, most importantly, he is still single..! :P

The sermon started with a sharing in a cross-culture gathering which people from different nations are grouped in team on a boat for preparing works of their own culture. Ended up the Singapore team finished late and felt hungry in the middle of the night. What they found is a pot of cold green bean soup with no facilities to heat it up..

There is an iron which they used to for ironing cloths. Idea came from a team member using it to heat up the green bean soup so that they can have a warm supper....

The idea was, iron wasn't the best thing to heat food up. It has its own purposes..

Same as our life, we have our own purpose to live, what we are doing now might not be efficient enough to show up our purpose of life, indeed may be in a wrong purpose at all....

Christians, have purpose of life for spreading the gospel and glorify God, if we are not doing it, we are not living in our own purpose. That is his teaching that Sunday..

I thought of what myself doing, as a professional but not really 'in-to' it... Am I living in the right purpose...?!

Show us thy way, Lord...!

Thomas Leung's talk

Thomas Leung (梁燕城) was in Singapore for a couple of days giving talks in my church. I was working the last few nights so can only attend the meeting on Sunday.

Quite a detailed and informative talk he is giving. From the OT to the NT (Di Vinci Code mostly involved) with evidences and research telling that all appeared in the Bible is true..

After all, isn't that we believe in God is thru faith at all. All these evidences, surely is solid enough to hold us strong. But it is faith which finally bonded us to God.

The school work in PRC, pray that it will help more of these poor students in there for a better future in China.

make this into a sharing place of Christ ba..?!

I think is better to write something on this blog other than just make this into a temporary transition or erase it ('cos I want to keep the blog name)..

So I better pick up the pen (now the keyboard), and tried to type some sharing spiritually (well, in Christianity term means just sharing about faith in Christ) so that it could be a place for encouragement or a new column for my old identity - a writer of a fellowship in my old church back in Sydney.

The magazine called "Ling Shui", in Chinese called "靈穗"...

Hope to stir up some myself or the others..! Also challenging myself to share in English... X)
